Improved Access

On the 1st October 2018 Improved Access was launched nationwide. 

How does it work in Tunbridge Wells?

Clinics will be held at Rusthall Medical Centre,  Clanricarde, Kingswood, Grosvenor & St James, Lonsdale Medical Centre, Speldhurst & Greggswood, Waterfield House (Pembury), St Andrews and Abbey Court Medical Centres on a rotational basis.

What type of appointments are available?

  • Monday to Friday an Advanced Nurse Practitioner will be available 1400 – 2000  [Advanced Nurse Practitioner can treat and prescribe for certain conditions].
  • Saturdays a GP and a Practice Nurse will be available between 0900 - 1300.
  • Sundays and Bank Holidays a GP will be available between 0900 to 1200 (in Warders Medical Centre, Tonbridge).

Who can book these appointments?

Improved Access appointments are available for all patients in Tunbridge Wells, regardless of where they are located. This means that Rusthall Medical Centre patients can book these appointments 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year. It is unlikely to be your normal GP who sees you at the weekend and you may have to go to a different surgery to Rusthall Medical Centre for these appointments.

How can I book an appointment?

In order to book these appointments, you contact the surgery reception staff as normal. The surgery phone opening times remain as normal. Patients can phone between 8.00 am to 6.30 pm Monday to Friday. This will not change as a result of this scheme and therefore you will not be able to phone the reception staff on Saturdays, Sundays / Bank Holidays or between 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm Monday to Friday.
